Swapping Ethereum is something you might need to do for dozens of reasons - rebalancing a portfolio, moving into a different chain, or converting ETH into a privacy coin before a transaction. Whatever the reason, the process is the same, and it takes less than five minutes once you know the steps.
This guide covers how to swap ETH for Bitcoin, Solana, Monero, and other major coins. No account creation, no ID verification, no waiting.
The short answer: how to swap ETH in 4 steps
If you're in a hurry, here's the full process:
Go to the Eunobit swap page.
Select ETH as the currency you're sending, and choose your target coin (BTC, SOL, XMR, etc.).
Enter the amount and paste your recipient wallet address.
Send your ETH to the deposit address shown - your swapped coins arrive in the destination wallet within minutes.
The sections below explain each step in detail, including how to get the best rate and what to watch out for.
What does "swapping" ETH actually mean?
Swapping is the process of exchanging one cryptocurrency for another at the current market rate. It's different from selling (converting to fiat) or bridging (moving assets between blockchains while keeping the same token). When you swap ETH, you send Ethereum and receive a different coin - Bitcoin, Solana, Monero, USDT, or whichever pair you choose.
There are two main ways to swap ETH:
Through a decentralized protocol (DEX). DEXs like Uniswap let you swap tokens within the same blockchain ecosystem. They're non-custodial and permissionless, but limited to tokens on the same chain - you can't swap ETH for BTC natively on a DEX.
Through a non-custodial exchange. For cross-chain swaps (ETH to BTC, ETH to XMR, ETH to SOL), you need a service that holds liquidity across multiple networks. A good non-custodial exchange processes the swap without requiring an account or holding your funds beyond the transaction window. This is the method we cover here.
How to swap ETH for BTC
Swapping ETH for Bitcoin is one of the most common cross-chain trades. Bitcoin and Ethereum run on entirely separate networks, so this isn't something you can do on a DEX - you need a cross-chain exchange.
Step 1: Choose the trading pair.
On the swap page at Eunobit.com, select ETH in the "You send" field and BTC in the "You receive" field. The exchange rate updates in real time. You'll also see the estimated amount you'll receive after network fees.
Step 2: Enter the amount.
Type in how much ETH you want to swap. The calculator will show the BTC equivalent at the current rate. Most exchanges have a minimum swap amount - typically around $10–20 worth - due to Bitcoin network fees.
Step 3: Provide your Bitcoin wallet address.
Paste the BTC wallet address where you want to receive the Bitcoin. Double-check this address before continuing. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, and sending to a wrong address means permanent loss of funds.
Step 4: Send your ETH.
The exchange will generate a unique ETH deposit address for your transaction. Send the exact amount of ETH shown to that address within the time window (usually 15–20 minutes). Once your ETH transaction confirms on the Ethereum network, the exchange processes the swap and sends BTC to your wallet.
How long does ETH to BTC take?
Usually between 5 and 30 minutes, depending on Ethereum network congestion. Once your ETH deposit has the required confirmations (typically 12–20 blocks), the BTC is released almost immediately.
How to swap BTC for ETH
The reverse trade - Bitcoin to Ethereum - follows exactly the same process, just with the pair flipped.
Step 1: Select BTC in the "You send" field and ETH in the "You receive" field.
Step 2: Enter the BTC amount. Keep in mind that Bitcoin transactions typically require 1–3 confirmations before the exchange can release the ETH, which adds a bit of time compared to ETH-originated swaps.
Step 3: Enter your Ethereum wallet address. This is the address that will receive the ETH - make sure it's an ERC-20 compatible wallet (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, a hardware wallet, etc.).
Step 4: Send BTC to the deposit address. Bitcoin confirmations usually take 10–30 minutes per block. With 1 confirmation required, you're looking at roughly 10–45 minutes total for the full swap.
One thing to note: Bitcoin has higher and less predictable network fees than Ethereum. If you're swapping a small amount, check the estimated fee carefully - for very small trades, fees can eat a significant percentage of the transaction.
How to swap ETH for SOL
Ethereum and Solana are separate Layer 1 networks with no native bridge between them, so you'll again need a cross-chain exchange for this swap.
Step 1: Select ETH → SOL as your trading pair.
Step 2: Enter the ETH amount. The exchange will show the SOL equivalent at the current rate. Note that SOL prices can be volatile, so the rate shown is locked for a short window (typically 10–15 minutes) after you initiate the swap.
Step 3: Enter your Solana wallet address. Solana uses its own address format - a 32–44 character base58 string starting with a number or letter. Make sure you're not accidentally pasting an Ethereum address here; the networks are incompatible and funds sent to the wrong address format cannot be recovered.
Step 4: Send ETH to the deposit address provided.
SOL swaps are typically fast - once your ETH confirms, Solana's sub-second finality means the SOL usually arrives in your wallet within a few minutes.
How to swap ETH for XMR (Monero)
Swapping ETH for Monero is slightly different from the pairs above, for one important reason: Monero (XMR) is a privacy coin. Unlike Bitcoin or Solana, Monero transactions are confidential by default - the sender, recipient, and amount are all cryptographically obscured.
This means the swap itself works the same way, but there are a couple of extra things to be aware of on the Monero side.
Step 1: Select ETH → XMR as your pair.
Step 2: Enter the ETH amount you want to swap.
Step 3: Enter your Monero wallet address. Monero addresses are long (95–97 characters) and start with a "4". You can also use a subaddress if your wallet generates one - most modern Monero wallets do, and subaddresses work fine as destinations.
Important: Monero also uses a payment ID for some older wallet setups and exchanges. If your destination wallet requires a payment ID, check whether the exchange supports this field. Most modern Monero wallets (Feather, Cake Wallet, the official Monero GUI) no longer require payment IDs - they use integrated addresses instead.
Step 4: Send your ETH to the deposit address.
Monero transactions require 10 confirmations before funds are spendable in the receiving wallet. This typically takes 20–30 minutes. The swap itself is fast - the wait is on Monero's end, not the exchange's.
Tips for getting the best ETH swap rate
A few things consistently make a difference when it comes to the rate you get:
Check the rate type before you swap. Most exchanges offer two modes: a floating rate, which locks in the pair but not the exact amount (your final payout adjusts to the market price at confirmation time), and a fixed rate, which guarantees the amount shown when you initiate the trade. Fixed rates often come with a small premium, but they protect you from volatility during the confirmation window. For larger trades, fixed rate is almost always worth it.
Factor in network fees. The exchange rate shown is not your total cost. Ethereum network fees (gas) and the destination chain's withdrawal fees come on top. These vary significantly - Ethereum gas can spike during high-demand periods, while Bitcoin fees depend on mempool congestion. The best time to swap is when gas is low, typically late at night UTC or on weekends.
Avoid swapping during major market moves. When a coin spikes or crashes 10%+ in a short window, spread widens significantly and floating-rate swaps can settle at worse prices. If you need to swap urgently during volatility, use a fixed rate.
Send the exact amount requested. Most cross-chain exchanges generate a specific deposit address for a specific amount. If you send slightly more or less - even due to rounding in your wallet - the exchange may process the transaction at the actual received amount, which adjusts your payout accordingly. Some exchanges void transactions where the received amount is outside a tolerance range. Always copy the amount exactly as shown.
The bottom line
Swapping ETH is fast and straightforward when you know the steps. The ETH→BTC and BTC→ETH pairs are the most liquid and typically settle in under 30 minutes. ETH→SOL is even faster. ETH→XMR takes a bit longer due to Monero's confirmation requirement, but the process is identical.
The most important things to get right: always double-check the destination address, understand whether you're on a fixed or floating rate, and account for network fees on both sides of the trade.
