How to Compare Crypto Exchange Rates in Two Minutes

Open two exchangers. Enter the same pair and the same amount. Read the two numbers.

They almost never match, and the gap is often bigger than any difference in published fees. That is the part nobody advertises, and it is the part that decides what lands in your wallet.

Short answer: to compare crypto exchange rates properly, enter the same pair and the same amount into two or three exchangers within a few minutes of each other, then compare the final amount you would receive. Ignore the advertised fee percentage. Check the rate type and the minimum before you send anything.

The rest of this guide explains why that works, how to do it step by step, and the mistakes that make a comparison useless.

Why the advertised fee tells you almost nothing

An exchanger earns its money somewhere in the quote. Some show a fee as a separate line. Others build their margin into the rate and show you a single receive figure. Neither approach is dishonest on its own, but both make a fee percentage a poor basis for comparison.

Two services can advertise a small fee and still quote you different amounts. The difference sits in the rate itself, in how the service sources its liquidity, and in whether the network fee is included. You cannot see any of that from a banner. You can see all of it in one number: what you would actually receive.

How to compare crypto exchange rates, step by step

  1. Pick your real pair and your real amount. Rates can differ with size, and thin pairs behave differently from major ones. Testing with a number you will never send tells you very little.

  2. Open two or three services in separate tabs. More gives you a better picture, but three is plenty.

  3. Request a quote on each within a few minutes. Markets move. A comparison spread over an hour compares different moments, not different services.

  4. Write down the receive amount and the minimum for your pair. Do not rely on memory.

  5. Compare like with like. Check whether each quote includes the network fee, and whether it follows the market or locks the rate.

  6. Check the network on both sides, then send a small test first. Pick the best number, but prove the route works with a small amount before you commit the full one.

What to compare, and what to ignore

Fixed rate or floating rate: comparing them fairly

A floating rate follows the market until your transfer confirms, so the amount you receive can land slightly above or below the estimate. A fixed rate locks the figure for a short window and usually costs a little more for that certainty.

Because of that, you cannot put a fixed quote next to a floating one and call the bigger number the winner. The fixed quote has insurance priced in. Compare fixed with fixed and floating with floating, or accept that you are weighing certainty against potential.

How to run this comparison on Eunobit

Our calculator is built for exactly this check. Here is how to use it.

  1. Open the calculator on the homepage and choose what you send and what you want to receive.

  2. Enter your real amount.

  3. Read two lines: the fee, shown on its own, and the amount you will receive with that fee already taken out. The second number is the one to compare against other services.

  4. Put the same amount into one or two other exchangers and compare the final figures.

A few things worth knowing before you compare:

  • We use a floating rate. The number you see is an estimate, and the final amount can differ slightly if the market moves while your transfer confirms. On a fast network the gap is usually small. For a fair comparison, set our quote against other floating quotes.

  • Our reserves are public. We publish the reserve for each asset on the homepage, so you can check that we can pay out the amount you want to receive before you send anything.

  • No account is needed for a standard exchange. Support is on Telegram around the clock, with email as a second channel.

Pairs you can compare. The assets available include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Tron, USDT on three networks (ERC-20, TRC-20 and TON), USDC on ERC-20, Monero, and Ukrainian hryvnia through Monobank. The list changes, so check the calculator for the current one. If you move between Monero or hryvnia and other assets, those pairs are worth putting through the same two-minute test.

Mistakes that make a comparison useless

  • Comparing at different times of day, then blaming the service for the difference.

  • Using a different amount on each service.

  • Treating a fixed quote and a floating quote as the same thing.

  • Ignoring the minimum, then finding out your amount falls below it.

  • Skipping the reserve for the asset you want back. A great quote means little if the service cannot pay it out.

  • Taking a quote that looks too good at face value. In a market this transparent, a large edge over everyone else is often a quote that changes at execution.

Frequently asked questions about comparing crypto exchange rates

Why do two exchangers show different amounts for the same pair?

Each one builds its quote differently. The margin, the way it sources liquidity and whether the network fee is included all change the final figure. That is why the receive amount is the only number worth comparing.

How often do crypto exchange rates change?

Continuously. A floating rate follows the market, so the figure on screen is a snapshot. Compare quotes within a few minutes of each other and the snapshots will mean something.

Is the biggest receive amount always the best choice?

Usually it is the best starting point, but check three things first: the minimum for your pair, whether the quote is fixed or floating, and whether the service has the reserve to pay out. A quote far above everyone else's deserves suspicion, not excitement.

Can I compare rates without creating an account?

Yes. Most exchangers show a quote before asking for anything, so you can compare several services without registering anywhere. On Eunobit, the calculator shows the fee and the receive amount before you confirm, and a standard exchange does not require an account.

Does a higher fee always mean a worse rate?

No. A visible fee and a hidden margin can add up to the same cost, or the visible fee can come with a better underlying rate. Compare the final amount, not the line items.
